David Slaby and Susan Block, family law attorneys with Paule, Camazine & Blumenthal, P.C., won a federal case filed under the International Child Abduction Remedies Act (ICARA) in August, 2010. Mother, a United States citizen, removed the two young children from Panama where they were residing with their Father before the removal. The trial was held in federal court in Cape Girardeau. The court ordered the return of two young boys to their father in Panama, and found Panama to be the children’s place of habitual residency under the Hague Convention. David and Susan represented the children’s father fighting for his children’s return to Panama. These cases are complex and require intricate knowledge of the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Abduction.
